SRB at the Sim Formula Europe 2026
As in previous years, SimRaceBlog was once again present at Sim Formula Europe at the MECC Maastricht, coinciding with the Interclassics show. The event, organized by the always enthusiastic and welcoming Andy Maassen, took place this year from January 15th to 18th.
With SRB, we attended Sim Formula Europe on Friday, January 16th, and Saturday, January 17th. Friday was still relatively quiet, allowing us to have relaxed, in-depth conversations with exhibitors, who are mostly familiar faces we get to meet in person once or twice a year. Naturally, we also checked out the latest simgear; we had the chance to admire the new Fanatec Podium DD and Podium pedals, which we had also spotted at Sim Expo in Dortmund. We had an extensive discussion with Heusinkveld about the prototype of their Display Dash on show, and at Zen’s Simwheels, we looked at their newest wheel, the Zen’s Simwheels LMP2-x. Notably, Build4Performance was also present, a company we visited years ago on our very first SRB outing. New for us this year was ‘Flightsim Fest,’ where we got our first real taste of the flight sim world.
Saturday, January 17th, was predictably much busier. On this day, we visited all the booths we didn’t manage to see on Friday and captured plenty of footage. The overall atmosphere was buzzing, which was great to see after a quiet Friday. There was also a lot of action around the (not one, but two) competitions running live on-site.
As always, Sim Formula Europe was a success for us, partly thanks to its connection with Interclassics and the free access between the two events. Once again, we would like to thank Andy Maassen for organizing Sim Formula Europe, his dedication, and his hospitality. We always view Sim Formula Europe as a great kick-off for the year and are curious to see what the rest of 2026 will bring in the simracing world.
