Thrustmaster introduces T818 DD

Thrustmaster has just announced the T818 Direct Drive Wheelbase. This is the first Direct Drive wheelbase from Thrustmaster, which seems to open fire on the Logitech PRO Racing Wheel and the Fanatec CSL/GT DD. The Direct Drive motor of the Thrustmaster T818, which was developed by Thrustmaster themselves, can deliver a maximum torque of 10Nm. The T818 has a price tag of £599.99 / $649.99 / €649,99.

The Thrustmaster T818 is part of the Thrustmaster ecosystem, which means that the wheelbase is compatible with all (separately sold) steering wheels with Quick Release Adapter, Thrustmaster pedal sets, shifters and handbrakes. In addition, the T818 is equipped with an RJ45 port, which is a preparation for a future ecosystem. The wheelbase is equipped with an RGB LED Strip on the front of the hexagonal wheelbase, where you can choose whether you want to set it to a color of your choice or to have it react to telemetry data from your favorite sim. In addition, the wheelbase is equipped with dark blue metal plates on both sides, which are replacable with plates in other colors to customize the appearance of your wheelbase to your personal taste. The metal plates are available in grey, orange, white and black and cost €29.99.

At the bottom of the wheelbase are four mounting points to mount the Thrustmaster T818. Seperately sold are the Cockpit Mounting Kit (£34.99 / €39,99) and Desk Mounting Kit (£44.99 / €49,99). Additional Quick Release Adapters are available for £34.99 / €34,99. The T818 Direct Drive wheelbase can be pre-ordered immediately for £599.99 / €649,99, Thrustmaster promises to ship the first wheelbases before Christmas. Orders for the US market will open early 2023.
